1.2.8 Engine to body/chassis mountings
Engine mountings are normally arranged to provide a degree of flexibility in the horizontal longitudinal, horizontal lateral and vertical axis of rotation. At the same time they must have sufficient stiffness to provide stability under shock loads which may come from the vehicle travelling over rough roads. Rubber sprung mountings suitably positioned fulfil the following functions:
